Mercedes AMG GT XX Concept Specifications
The Mercedes-AMG GT XX Concept has a top speed of more than 360 km/h and an output of over 1,360 HP (>1,000 kW). Acceleration figures have not yet been revealed.
The Mercedes AMG GT XX dimensions are 5,200 x 1,950 x 1,310 mm (LxWxH).
Design
The CONCEPT AMG GT XX’s sleek design boasts a drag coefficient of 0.198, which enhances high-speed performance and ensures high handling stability at various speeds.
The vehicle’s sporty fastback design features a low-slung bonnet, a radiator grille with ten vertical struts and a centrally integrated Mercedes star, a sharply raked windscreen, angled side windows, recessed door handles, innovative Active Aero wheels, and luminous coated segments. The striking sunset beam orange color scheme is meant to demonstrate self-confidence.
The rear end of the vehicle features a sharply angled aerodynamic edge, six circular taillights, a centrally positioned MBUX Fluid Light Panel that can be used to communicate with the outside world, and an absence of the rear windscreen.
The interior offers contrasts of black, silver, and orange accents. The two integrated screens are fully focused on driving. The rectangular steering wheel is similar to the AMG ONE and is inspired by motor racing.
The sports bucket seats are offered in innovative LABFIBER leather alternative material based on biotechnology. Another distinctive feature is the center console with illuminated orange pipes reminiscent of high-voltage cables and thus expressing top electric performance.

Innovative Technologies
The Mercedes AMG GT XX Concept comes with many patented pioneering technologies.
Axial Flux Motor
Developed in collaboration with YASA (also a Mercedes-Benz AG subsidiary), it enables high power in a compact design. It gives almost 67% savings in weight and size while offering three times the power density and twice the torque density. The motors are capable of running continuously on high load, something not yet achieved in an electric vehicle. Mercedes-AMG plans to put it into series production by 2026.
The motor forms part of the High Performance Electric Drive Units (HP.EDUs), with one at the front and another at the rear. The rear HP.EDU has two axial flux motors, while the one at the front has a single motor and acts as a booster motor that kicks in only when additional power or traction is required.
High Performance Electric Battery (HP.EB)
The High Performance Electric Battery (HP.EB) offers high power density and rapid energy absorption. The AMG GT XX can achieve an average charging power of more than 850 kW at 1000 amperes, making its charging time almost as fast as refueling. It can, in fact, charge up 400 km of range in just 5 minutes under WLTP conditions.
The battery is able to deliver high power with exceptional repeatability due to its direct cooling of the cells and high voltage. It is based on NCMA (nickel/cobalt/manganese/aluminum) technology and offers an energy density as high as 300 watt-hours/kg.
Active Aero Wheel
This world’s first patented design resolves the conflict between brake cooling, efficiency, and range. The 21-inch five-spoke forged aluminum wheels are equipped with five movable elements, which, when closed, reduce air resistance, thereby reducing energy consumption and improving range.
MBUX Fluid Light Paint
Segments of the CONCEPT AMG GT XX exterior are finished in MBUX Fluid Light Paint, making it shine in the dark. The luminescent cladding on the longitudinal beams refers to the AMG logo and also serves to visually communicate the charging process.
Speakers in Front Headlights
Speakers are integrated into the front headlights of the AMG GT XX for emitting driving sounds for pedestrian protection. This method reduces weight and saves space.
MBUX Fluid Light Panel
The vehicle’s MBUX Fluid Light Panel at the rear is composed of 700 freely programmable RGB LEDs, which can be used to communicate with the outside world in text or animation.
Innovative Fabric Material
The interior of the CONCEPT AMG GT XX features innovative LABFIBER leather alternative material based on biotechnology. It feels and looks like real leather but is lighter, more durable, and fully recyclable. The front bucket seats also offer seat pads that are custom designed using 3D printing technology, which utilizes ergonomic data provided by an individual’s body scan.
