Performance and Specifications

The Land Cruiser 250 (Prado) comes with a 2.4 liter turbo Hybrid petrol or a 2.8-liter turbo diesel engine. The petrol 2.4 liter turbo Hybrid with 8-speed automatic transmission produces 326 HP (243 kW) and 630 Nm (465 ft·lb) of torque. While the petrol 2.4 liter turbo with 8AT produces 277 HP (207 kW), 430 Nm (317 ft·lb) and the diesel 2.8-liter turbo (48V system) with 8AT produces 201 HP (150 kW), 500 Nm (369 ft·lb). The new enhanced frame allows the Land Cruiser to tow up to 2,721 kg (6,000 pounds).

The new Land Cruiser 250 (Prado) is bigger than the outgoing model giving it much more interior space. It is 4,925 mm (+100) long, 1,980 mm (+95) wide, 1,870 mm (+20) high with a wheelbase of 2,850 mm (+60) when compared to the last model.

All Land Cruiser 250 grades feature a center & rear locking differential and a full-time four-wheel drive system as standard. Notable features include the CRAWL Control, downhill Assist Control, front stabilizer bar disconnect mechanism (SDM), electric power steering system (EPS), off-road cruise control with five selectable speeds and a GA-F platform as on the Land Cruiser 300 Series. This gives the vehicle a much improved comfort and handling performance both on and off-road.

Design

The new Land Cruiser 250 (Prado) looks very much like a capable off roader with its bold and powerful boxy design. Its projector type 3-eyed square LED headlamps with auto-leveling capability, a TOYOTA heritage front grille, trapezoidal wheel arches, a long bonnet, an upright windscreen, square side mirrors amplifies its sense of stability and off road presence.

Its split bumper allows for easy replacement especially of the corners which are most likely to get damaged shows just how deeply Toyota thinks of its vehicles practicality and functionality. Of all its colors, the Land Cruiser looks best in smoky blue color with a grayscale roof.
