Audi Concept C with Jaguar’s Type 00 controversial vibes

Audi had recently revealed its Audi Concept C, an all-electric two-seat sports car, in Milan. The car reminds me of the Jaguar Type 00 with similar bold, controversial looks. Some may love it, while others may not find it appealing.

The car embodies Audi’s new design philosophy and showcases what its future models will look like. According to Audi, the new Concept C has been inspired by the Audi A6 (2004 model) and the Auto Union Type C (1936 model). It also appears to be a future electric Audi TT.

“The Audi Concept C is the first manifestation of this new design philosophy. Visionary thinking and a drive to go beyond the familiar are exemplary to Audi. Clarity, focus, and commitment to implementation—that’s how we are reshaping design and the company,” says Audi CEO Gernot Döllner.

Audi Concept C Specifications

While Audi has kept much of the powertrain specifics under wraps, the Concept C is built on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE), shared with Porsche’s upcoming electric 718 Boxster and Cayman models. A single rear-mounted motor powers the concept, but a dual-motor Quattro version is also expected in the production models, set to be launched in 2027.

The Audi Concept C is 4,520 mm long, 1,970 mm wide, 1,285 mm high, and has a wheelbase of 2,568 mm making it larger than the Audi TT but smaller than the Audi R8.

Built under Audi’s new design philosophy named “Strive for clarity,” which is based on the design principles—clear, technical, intelligent, and emotional. Under this philosophy Audi wants to differentiate its products from the competition by reducing them to the essentials without any superfluous lines or elements.

“Radical simplicity is at the heart of our approach. We achieve clarity by reducing everything to the essential,” says Chief Creative Officer Massimo Frascella.

At the center of the new Audi Concept C’s face is an upright vertical frame, giving it a unique identity. A very distinctive four-element signature headlight that also carries on to the taillights.

The hardtop roof, which is electrically retractable, has been used for the first time on an Audi roadster. It is comprised of two roof elements and allows the occupants to enjoy the vehicle both as a coupe and an open-top roadster.

At the rear are the same four-element signature lights, a pronounced shoulder line, and a coupe-sloping roofline with horizontal slats that give it a strong sporty character.

The Audi Concept C was showcased in a titanium color that represents technical elegance, precision, lightness, and strength.

Inside too, the new Audi Concept C follows the “reduction to the essential” design philosophy. The minimalist design frees users from any distractions and provides the right information at the right place and time. The dash features a 10.4-inch foldable central display with physical controls in anodized aluminum. The integration of technology and tactile mechanical controls creates a unique feel and experience.

The steering wheel too has tactile mechanical controls with the metallic Audi rings in the center. And the indoor color scheme is also inspired by the titanium color on the outside.

The distraction-free cabin prioritizes high-quality materials and precision craftsmanship, ensuring every detail feels purposeful.

Audi Concept C Review: In short

The Audi Concept C follows the brand’s new design philosophy named “Strive for clarity,” and it will define all future production models. Audi plans to introduce at least 20 new models within the next 24 months that will give it the youngest portfolio in the premium segment.

The Concept C is not a direct replacement for the TT or R8 but a bold step into a new segment, blending elements of both.

“Our new portfolio and design language mark the next steps in the company’s continuing evolution. By focusing on what truly matters—across products, processes, and structures—we’re creating space for innovation,” says Gernot Döllner, Audi CEO.

For fans of the four rings, this roadster is a thrilling promise of what’s to come. So if you like the TT or R8 and probably looking for an electric option, keep a lookout for the latest developments on the Audi Concept C on Audi’s site.
