Nilu27 is a V12, 1,070 HP pure manual Beast, a mechanical Auto Enthusiasts dream

The NILU from Nilu27 is an analog beast claiming to be the world’s most powerful naturally aspirated hypercar. This eye catcher, being a V12, 1,070 HP, analog controls, manual-geared hypercar, offers an authentic, raw driving experience. Being devoid of AI and digital technology, the NILU hypercar stands to challenge the current automotive trends.

Nilu27 has been founded by Sasha Selipanov, an automobile designer who previously worked with Lamborghini, Koenigsegg, and Bugatti. According to him, he wanted the Nilu to be the world’s most powerful naturally aspirated car devoid of electrification.

NILU is the first car from Nilu27, and only 15 track-only units will be built in California. Later another 54 street-legal variants will be made at an undisclosed location.

No prices have been announced yet for any of the NILU models.

Performance and specifications

The NILU hypercar offers a 0 to 100 km/h in under 3 sec and a top speed limited to 400 kph (249 mph) from a 6.5 L, V12 naturally aspirated engine delivering 1,070 HP (800 KW) and 860 Nm (634 lb-ft) of torque.

The engine has been developed by New Zealand’s Hartley Engines, and the 7-speed manual transmission comes from Italy’s CIMA. The vehicle has a dry weight of only 1,200 kg (2,646 lbs), meaning a lot of lightweight materials have been used in its construction.

Design

The NILU hypercar has a stylish aerodynamic design with smooth flowing curves and large intakes. The most striking is the rear with an exposed engine with an overhead 12×1 exhaust system that Selipanov calls a Snake Pit.

The car’s body is made up of carbon fiber with an aluminum-alloy subframe. Michelin Pilot Sport tires with 21-inch center lock wheels.

Inside the gullwing doors is an analog world. Starting with the mechanically adjusted seats, mechanical hand brake, mechanical analog dials, a raised H-pattern seven-speed manual gear shifter, and a steering wheel without any buttons or switches. Even the door mirrors are deliberately kept manual. The fuel pump, ignition, and starter priming toggles are on the roof.

There are no driver modes, driver assists, or digital screens except for the digital rearview mirror, which has no other solution in case of rear engine sports cars.

In short

The NILU hypercar from Nilu27 will be on the top list of mechanical auto enthusiasts. It’s a pure mechanical beauty offering a pure, natural, unassisted driving experience in a futuristic, curvy design.

Though without all the latest technologies, it may appear old school, but that’s real school. The thrills of a V12, 1,070 HP, and 1,200 kg of a pure mechanical beast cannot be explained but can only be felt by driving it. Those sounds and vibrations of a 10,000+ rpm machine can only be imagined.

“While the world is moving towards electrification, and for very good reason, we firmly believe the timelessness of these cars will not only keep them relevant but they will continue to find a place in the collections of passionate car lovers.”

Inna Selipanov, Co-Founder and COO
