The ROX 01’s bold, boxy design, similar to the Defender, and sharp body lines give it a strong, powerful presence. And with a comprehensive range of over 1,300 km and a mini kitchen in its tailgate, the ROX 01 is indeed attracting some attention. The vehicle has been designed by the Italian design studio, Pininfarina.
The ROX 01, previously known as the Polestones 01, is manufactured by a new Chinese startup, Rox Motor, which was established in 2021. It is the only model produced by the company so far.
The ROX 01 price ranges between Yuan 299,900 (USD 41,650) and Yuan 359,900 (USD 49,980) in China.
ROX 01 Performance & Specs
The ROX 01 is an EREV (extended range electric vehicle) wherein the 1.5 L engine acts as a generator powering the batteries. The vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds with a top speed limited to 190 km/h. The ROX 01 has a power output of 470 HP and 740 Nm of torque.
There are two battery options of 44.5 & 58.4 kWh with a maximum comprehensive range of 1,362 km and a pure electric range (CLTC) of 306 km. (1,132 and 252 km in WLTC, respectively)
The ROX 01 is a large SUV with a length of over 5 meters and a wheelbase of over 3 meters. It also has a good ground clearance of 255 mm.

Design
The ROX 01 is a large SUV with a capacity to carry 6 or 7 passengers in a 3-row seating arrangement. It has a strong, boxy appearance, which reminds me of the Land Rover Defender. The T-shaped head and tail lights give it a distinct look.
The vehicle uses all aluminum chassis sub-frames and a high-strength steel body, making it lightweight, durable, and resistant to corrosion. It is also loaded with safety and driver assistant features, including a LiDAR, 17 radars, and 6 cameras.
Its boxy design and over 3-meter wheelbase offer a spacious interior with premium Nappa leather, heated ventilated seats, a 15.7-inch 3K ultra-clear central touchscreen, and a 12.3-inch instrument cluster.
The tailgate is also electric soft-close and has a mini kitchen, which can be ideal for camping trips.
