Subaru just introduced its smallest SUV EV, the Subaru Uncharted. A product of the Subaru-Toyota partnership and a clone of Toyota’s CH-R. Similarly, the Toyota bZ4x is a twin of the Subaru Solterra, while the Subaru Trailseeker is a twin of the Toyota bZ Woodland. Of the three, the Subaru Trailseeker and Toyota bZ Woodland are the largest, while the Subaru Uncharted and Toyota CH-R are the smallest.
The Subaru Uncharted EV is expected to arrive by spring in 2026.

Subaru Uncharted Specs and Performance
The Subaru Uncharted dual-motor version boasts an output of 338 HP (252 KW), with Subaru’s legendary Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system offering a 0-60 mph in under 5 seconds. The basic version is a single-motor FWD with an output of 221 HP. The 8.3 inches of ground clearance improves its off-road capability.

The 74.7 kWh battery offers a maximum range of more than 483 km (300 miles) and can charge from 10% to 80% in about 30 minutes. Charging is at a modest 150 kW.
Differentiating it from the Toyota CH-R is Subaru’s X-Mode, which optimizes the powertrain according to different off-road conditions in order to maximize traction and performance.

Design
Though the 2026 Subaru Uncharted EV shares the same platform as the Toyota CH-R, they look a little different. The Subaru Uncharted features six LED daytime running lights, main headlights above the bumper, an illuminated Subaru logo, a windshield wiper de-icer, and optional two-tone paint.

The side is characterized by a coupe-like fastback design with hidden rear door handles, heated door mirrors, aggressively contoured lower cladding, and a choice of 20-inch alloy wheels with gunmetal finish and gloss-black inserts.

The back has full-width taillights, a roof-top split spoiler, a powered tailgate, and a raised bumper with reflectors.

The Subaru Uncharted is nearly 7 inches shorter than the Solterra EV and offers more than 25 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row.

The interior highlights a 14-inch multimedia system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. A heated steering wheel, dual wireless device chargers in the center console, a rotary shift selector, a smart rearview mirror, and a Harman Kardon premium audio system.

The ventilated and heated seats use StarTex® water-repellent upholstery. Also available are ambient interior lighting, a 360-degree parking camera, and a panoramic fixed glass roof with a power sunshade on the top model.
2026 Subaru Uncharted EV : In short
The Subaru Uncharted EV is yet another product of the Subaru–Toyota partnership. In the highly competitive automotive world, such associations are quite common in order to reduce cost through economies of scale. Subaru has done quite well to differentiate it from Toyota.

Subaru and Toyota are renowned for their performance and reliability, and the new Uncharted will be no different. Once other details like the dimensions and pricing are revealed, it will be much clearer as to how it compares with its competitors. But one thing is for sure—it will definitely consolidate Subaru’s presence in the EV world.
